Al Anderman is an Accredited Associate of the IIB the Institute for Independent Business
Since formation in 1984, the Institute for Independent Business has evolved and developed in line with the needs of businesses around the world.
Business Information
From research into the needs of the independent business sector carried out by the Institute, as well as by several academic institutions during the 1980's, it became clear that small to medium sized businesses required not just information and articles, but also practical assistance in the form of hands-on help.
Independent business owners may take some comfort from the fact that their needs and challenges have been faced by many. But each owner and his/her business have their own unique requirements. To meet such needs the Institute developed the Business Support Program.
Through the Institute's accredited Executive Associates, qualifying businesses can have access to one of the most comprehensive, flexible and effective business support infrastructures available in the world, including mature senior executives to use as 'sounding boards' and mentoring by experienced business advisers.
Executive Associates have helped countless businesses to find the right solutions to achieve the objectives of their owners. Major consulting practices are generally unable or unwilling to fulfil the needs of independent businesses, and their cost structures and style of consultancy are not appropriate to smaller businesses, or for large businesses who seek specific expertice but do not want to support the overhread of large consulting firms..
Organizations that supply worthwhile help and useful information to independent businesses are rare. In fact this situation has not improved significantly over time and the Institute has been in the forefront, successfully providing small to medium sized businesses with access to the most flexible and powerful business support available.
Business Support Program
The IIB developed the Business Support Program specifically to meet the needs of independent businesses.
Practical advice that works can be made available to assist business owners in virtually every way possible. An Executive Associate is made available as a "business friend" to provide a "life line" to the supported company.
The type and level of support is specifically geared to the needs and objectives of each client's business, based on a proven model from which countless businesses have benefited. In order to determine if a business qualifies, a meeting is arranged with an Executive Associate to talk with the owner. This meeting includes a confidential discussion about the challenges facing the business.
The first meeting is without obligation. It is an opportunity to talk with another business person in complete confidence. If any ideas or improvement areas are identified, the Executive Associate may be able to point the owner in the right direction for the right help, but nothing is for sale during the meeting.
Standards and Ethics - Board of Trustees
The management and development strategy of the Institute is the responsibility of the board of Trustees who work to ensure that the Aims of the IIB are maintained, and that the conduct and standards are upheld by Executive Associates.
